1. Who we are

My-Skool ("we", "us") provides school management software for schools, including the website at my-skool.com and the My-Skool Android / iOS apps (package com.myskool.my_skool_app).

2. Scope

This policy explains how we process personal data when school staff, teachers, parents, or students use My-Skool products. Schools that subscribe to My-Skool act as controllers of their student and staff records; we process that data on their behalf to deliver the service.

3. Data we process

• Account data: name, email, role, school association, login status
• School operations data: students, parents, teachers, fees, attendance, results, leads, support tickets, and related records entered by the school
• Optional media: profile photos, ID card images, uploaded documents
• Device / usage data: app diagnostics, authentication tokens, and basic technical logs needed to keep the service secure
• Contact details used for OTP or notifications when a school enables SMS / email features

4. Why we process data

• Provide school ERP features (fees, attendance, academics, portals)
• Authenticate users and enforce school feature entitlements
• Send operational emails / SMS when enabled by the school
• Secure the platform, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
• Provide customer support requested by the school

5. App permissions

The mobile app may request:

• Camera — to scan student QR / barcode codes for attendance
• Photos / media — to upload student or school images and save generated cards or receipts
• Internet — to sync with My-Skool servers

6. Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal data. We use infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase / Google Cloud and hosting partners) as processors to store data and run the service. Schools may export or share their own records according to their internal policies.

7. Retention

We retain account and school data for as long as the school subscription is active and as needed for legal, security, or backup purposes. Schools may request deletion of school-controlled records subject to applicable retention obligations.

8. Security

Access is protected with authentication. Data in transit uses HTTPS. Role-based access limits what each user can see within their school.

9. Children

My-Skool is used by schools to manage student information. Student accounts and profiles are created and managed by the school. Parents / guardians should contact the school for student-data requests.

10. Your rights & contact

For access, correction, or deletion requests: contact your school administrator first. Platform privacy questions can be sent to support@my-skool.com.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of My-Skool after an update means you accept the revised policy.
